Customers kept asking for something we didn't make.
Ground Control existed as a furniture-mounted, plug-in product. Sales kept hearing the same question: "Do you have a hardwired version?" I turned that recurring request into the initial product brief before engineering development began.
The opportunity was bigger than a hardwired version.
Minimal outlets need very precise installation, and an imperfect cut in drywall, tile, or stone stays visible. Ground Control's trim made installation more forgiving and turned the edge into a deliberate detail.
That insight made the trim the product's main advantage and the center of its positioning.
Instead of one new SKU, we built a system.
The opportunity expanded beyond a hardwired variation. Ground Control became a modular family that holds one visual language across different applications and installation conditions.
The product architecture needed an equally clear commercial structure.
I built the naming and configuration logic, the specification guide, and the ecommerce SKU structure, so customers could find and order the right combination without help from Sales.
The communication system had to be as modular as the product itself.

Taking the system to market.
I led the launch from initial positioning through rollout. Ground Control officially launched at ICFF 2025, with a major follow-up activation at BDNY 2025.
Hardwired configurations accounted for 568 units and $82K+ in booked orders, validating the recurring customer demand that originally triggered development.
